XPS vs. Inspiron

Hi! I'm trying to decide on whether to purchase the XPS m1330 notebook or the Inspiron 1420 notebook. I know there is a difference in size and price. But, I was wondering if anyone had any experience/advice on which is better performance for the price. I am not sure which one to go with. Any suggestions???

Hi,
I have a close friend who is trying to make the same decision.
I advised him to get the 1420 solely because of price but he is leaning towards the 1330 because of some perceived better quality and Dell support.

Maybe there's something to his claims, but I'd go with the 1420 - it's a lot cheaper and the same darn computer  - it's not like you can get a faster processor or better video card - they both offer the same stuff.
So, for around $400 more you get a computer that weights 1.4Lbs less ( unless you upgrade the battery on the 1330 which you most likely will  - then the weight difference will wind up less I think ).
I read somewhere that the LCD display might also be better on the 1330. I dunno.
And if weight is really the issue, go with HP or Sony 12" models and really pay the price! But I hope you like small screens.

Good luck!
