1901FP START button appears off to the left (doesn't fit)

have a dell 1901fp set at highest resolution.  running win xp pro.  with nvidia Geforce MX 420 card in analog mode.  questions:
 
how do i set up so icons and START button aren't off the screen.
 
2) any way to improve the text blurriness?
 
3) If i buy a DVI graphics card, which one would be good for this monitor and machine.

Right click on the desktop in the clear, select properties for your display adapter. go to settings tab. Check your resoluton. Set it to native 1280x1024. (if resolution will not adjust likely your problem is your video driver requires reinstallation).
If you are sitll off to the left, hit the auto adjust button, (+) sign button on your monitor.
