Just a few tips as well as questions for you. Are you runnig the games in a windows box? If so stop all the processes in the windows task bar. Especially any virus processes. I'm not familiar with your video card, but see if you can lower the color setting to 16 bit. 32 bit is nice, but it doubles the processing power needed. Anyway . . ... visually speaking very few people can tell the difference between 16 bit and 32 bit. Finally, be sure to make the games resolution the same as your monitor's native resolution. This is all in an effort to give the game as close to 100% processing power as your system is capable of. Good Luck!
I just got my 1905FP and I am having exactly the same problem. I am using it with the GeForce 6800GTO as well. I just set up the system this evening, and I noticed that when I move my cursor around I can get a ghost trail up to an inch long sometimes. Usually it is more like half an inch, but either way I don't see anything even remotely like this on my 2001FP at work. Granted, there is the 4ms response time difference, but I really don't think that should cause this much of a problem. Some of the other guys at work have the 19 inch LCDs (1901 I think) and their displays look fine.
Also, the ghosting issue is not unique the mouse pointer. If I try to move a window around, even slowly, I can see ghosting on the window edges. I can also so very obvious display refreshing when I move windows around.
I also tried loading up a game, and it is actually unplayable. If you try to turn or move in any way, the brightness seems to drop for anything moving on the screen and everything blurs together. Once again, I know some ghosting and blurring is expected on LCD panels, but this is ridiculous.
I have tried reducing Hardware Acceleration, but to no avail. I have tried all manner of video card options, and I have tried connecting the monitor to a different computer. Nothing seems to have any effect on the problem.
Can't find the 1905FP user guide listed in the DELL knowledge base (found multiple 1901FP.....) and not knowing if you've already tried this (along with everything else....), have you tried enabling/selecting the monitor "Auto Adjust" option in your OSD Image Settings - as well as all the monitor so-called "factory default" settings..??

While this test won't do anything to "fix" your problem, it should confirm conclusively it is a monitor issue. Scroll down the page and click on the "Launch Calibrator"..
Sounds like you are seeing exactly the same problem. It's wierd how the whole screen comes back into focus when you stop moving the mouse. I am sure it is a side effect of the staggering 800:1 contrast ratio with the 1905FP. I have sent my back for a refund as I could see I was always going to be unhappy with it. Why have a fabulous 3d card like the 6800GT and compromise it with a screen that doesn't show it in the best light when you're playing your favourite games?
I have ordered a nice CRT; luckily I have room for one on my desk.
Thanks for the link. One of the interesting things about this is that the white to black response time seems good. However, the white to dark blue (or whatever other color) seems TERRIBLE. I am talking like 40 - 50 ms terrible. I am wondering if they optimize the monitor response for full white to full black so that they can advertise good "full" range response times.
Looks like Dell will be shipping me a new monitor, so hopefully this will sort things out.

I can't recall off-hand which one but I did read in a major computer mag comments to this effect. Whatever. Let's hope the replacement monitor works....because I have a new XPS GEN 3 system in transient as I write this that includes the 1905FP...
OOPS.... just remembered after I posted - the review was for the 1901FP...sorry about that.....
I'm afraid I never got a replacement. Instead I bought a Dell 21inch CRT monitor (a badged trinitron) for £160 less from an internet website. It is stunning, though obviously takes up a bit more room. The ghosting problem was so bad on the 1905FP it is possible I had a bad one, as I can't believe any review would have missed it. I decided that even a fixed unit was still not going to do my Nvidia 6800GT justice so saved so money and went for a CRT, figuring I would get a flat panel in a few more years when the technology has improved again.
