1907FP power save mode glitch?

Question

Hello, I purchased a 1907FP and have it hooked up to my PC alongside a 1905FP. Both are attached via DVI to the same video card.   For some reason, when my PC puts the monitors into power save, the 1907 power light goes orange, but the screen 'flashes' from off to that black screen with a little backlight when you first turn it on...about once every 5 seconds or so, very annoying. The light never goes from orange to green, it stays orange. My 1905FP does not do this. Any ideas?

Ok, I've resolved my problem. Turns out that my problem was caused by a bad DVI cable. I had another cable handy and swapped it out and the problem was resolved. I've asked Dell to send me a new cable. In the meantime, I've switched to the analog cable and it also does not cause the problem.

Well, i thought my problem was resolved. Same problem with DVI cable. No problem with analog cable. Got really tired of working with support (couldn't understand half of what was said). if i get the energy, i'll try again.

I have the same problem with my new 1907fp. i will be working on something and then it goes into power save mode and the power light goes orange, I have to reboot to get the monitor to come back on. Please help and let me know if anybody has found out what the problem is.

Hi, cityboy35,   The problem we are having is while the monitor is in power-save mode.  I don't have a problem while using the monitor.   However, I have seen several other posts describing the problem you are experiencing.  some of them have resolved the issue with a new DVI cable or by switching to the analog cable.   good luck

Did you ever find a solution for this?  I have tried tech support, and they sent me a new monitor but I am having the same problems!    When it goes into power-save, the power light turns orange.  If I watch the screen when it's in power-save mode, it cycles: 'backlight off - 5seconds or so', then 'backlight on - 5 seconds or so'...  It is really annoying, and I am worried that the constant on/off will reduce the life of the backlight...   Any help would be appreciated. Actually, the monitor is my son's and he's away at college now.  However, I was visiting him a few weeks ago and noticed that the problem had stopped.  The only thing I saw different was that he had the monitor a little higher on it's stand than he did before.  I noticed that the actual power cord was not bent as severely as when he had the monitor pushed all the way down on it's stand.  He said that when he got back to school he reattached the power cord and raised the monitor and he hadn't seen the problem since.  Sounds kind of hokey, but whatever works.  Hope this helps.
