2001FP 20 inch flat panel
2001FP 20 inch FLAT panel
(this is garbage for the price its selling for)
my head is hurting from looking at this
i love my sony trinitron
i thought DELL would make a decent LCD it being 16ms advertised and all
i think im going to return this, im forced because my head hurts after 10 min
the colors are decent , but its kinda blurry and i have no idea how to fix this!!!
i think ill just buy a cheap 19 inch monitor or something
any feedback?
PS:
Oh ya, 1 more thing, DVI slot???!?!?! where does it go in the PC????
the white female on the vid card is differnt then the male plug for monitor
because at the moment im using the blue 15 pin hole.
i doubt that is reason though.... for hurting eyes

Hmm, still can't say what's going on. So the cord is missing pins, from looking at your diagram, and also must be layed out in a manner where the remaining pins don't fit in the video card's DVI slot when it should. Also, have you said yet if the cable fits into the monitor, and if so, and you saying the port on the monitor is the same as the video card, why would it fit the monitor and not the card?
Have you contacted Dell, maybe they supplied the wrong cable.
On the USB cable, the Monitor I think comes with 4 USB ports, 2 on the side and two somewhere esle, back maybe. In order for those USB ports to work you'll need to connect that one USB cord to one of the USB ports on the PC, otherwise they won't work. It's like turning 1 USB port into 4 and easier to reach being at the monitor.

also 1 other question:
am i suppose to be connecting a USB cord to pc to monitor?
the instructions i think said for me to do it, cant figure out why

Ok, I just got my 2005fpw in, so I was able to take a pic of the DVI cable next to the DVI port on my own 6800. With the way the cable is held in the pic it went right into the DVI port with no trouble. And so far what I show in the picture matches what you showed with your text diagrams.

Eeek, sounds like you plugged it in to the card while the computer was on? I've accidently done that with VGA cables, but never DVI, I wonder if that is more prone to damage than VGA. So that could be one reason your having glitches.
Remember, anything you connect to your computer you need to have the computer off first, even when unplugging, or you risk possible damage. Only USB cables are able to plug in and pull out while the machine is on.
How much did you pay for your screen?
