2005FPW - JAN A01 - Perfect - post your serial #!

Question

Just received my 2005FPW that was ordered on Jan 3.  Box stated A01 - got excited.  Opened box, setup monitor, ecstatic.   January A01 revision seems to be perfect, at least the one I got.  No backlight leakage, although I will test more in the dark tonight.  The background is almost as black as it is when its off, comparable to my apply / sony 23'.  I couldn't be happier - this unit I received is 100% perfect.  Also, no dead pixels as of yet, notta one.  Running on a ATI 9700 Pro, already had the native resolution and everything works and looks PERFECT.  I'm thinking of taking in apart and looking at the panel mfg - to see if its LG or Samsung.  If they jipped me on response time and dot pitch I will be dummed, but from what I can tell its as good as my sony 23'.   The only way we are going to figure this out is if people start posting there serial numbers and the quality.  Reply to this post with the following:   Serial: Mfg Date: Revision: Backlight Problem: # of Dead Pixels:   Nothing else ... i will tally em up every few days and post a summary so that we can start figuring out if its a production problem, or just poor quality control ... Serial:  MX-OT6130-48323-515-213L Mfg Date: Jan 05 Revision: A01 Backlight Problem: n/a # of Dead Pixels: 0   Lucky me I guess... I bittcched about people getting theirs before mine, now I'm kinda glad :)  I have another one coming UPS ground that should be here in 2 days, I will followup with those results shortly.

I'm waiting for one from the same batch (ordered on the 5th, just shipped yesterday from TN to San Deigo). I'll let you know how it is when it finally gets here, I'm doubtful there was a panel change, but who knows.

Right click your desktop, click on Properties, than click on Apperance in the next box.  Now locate Font Size near the bottom and click the arrow.  You now have some more choices for the font size, normal, large or extra large....Try this and see if it helps

I'm seriously considering getting one of these, and would appreciate your feedback on the following:

Being that the native resolution is 1680 x 1050, is it hard to read web pages and text after adjusting the dpi to 120, setting clear type, etc? I'm OK with1280x1024. My primary use for this monitor will be for viewing web pages, stock charts, and text documents. It won't be used for video or games.

Also, will it work with analog input from a Dimension 2300, or is a DVI card a must? What model computer are you using? Thanks!

I don't have the monitor myself, but my brother does and that is what he has done, because he is nearing 70 years of age. If you don't like what you see on the monitor, you can send it back within the first 21 days. My Jan Rev01 didn't turn out good, it was actually worse than my Dec. Rev00
