Did you get your low mic vol problem fixed and if so, how?

Can't forget because I've been through a wringer and still feeling it with other issues unrelated to the mic issue. The low mic vol issue was/is not only with Skype. There are still reports on the mic problem in the audio group.
(Chris-M helped out a few with Audigy soundcard a while back. That's the only case I know anybody got help with the low mic vol problem.)

Also, I'm unaware of any flickering problems so far (knock on wood). Is this the same problem that I've been describing as the "crystalline" effect when viewing light colored backgrounds (as related to the screen coating?), or is this an entirely different problem?

This is what I got back from Chris-M about the fuzzy text:
"Is this firmware fixes both color banding and fuzzy text on the 2007FP?
* No. Although I didn't see fuzzy text on any of the flashed monitors."

That is unfortunate. I believe the blur is on all the panels. It was widely reported on the 2407 (bigger pixels make it easier to see) and a handfull noticed it on the 2007. The same people who got 2007 replacements (before the fix) indicated the replacement had the problem. Problem here is that you need sharp eyes and need to know what a proper DVI connection should look like:
Here is the screen shot of my 2007fp vs my 2405fpw each connected via DVI.

Someone else tracking the blur, note the rainbows on the 2407:

Very hard to capture, but there is a one pixel shadow on the 2007fp also most pictures of the screen rainbowed which indicated the pixels are jittering, this did not happen on the 2405. I was hoping the jitter/blur was also from the Video processing elements that have been turned off. Looks like a wait before the panel gets into the hands of sharp eyed users.
Too bad Dell does't hire sharp eyed QA and repair workers to prevent this from getting out the door in the first place.
