Even though the Farouj Scaler is very robust in it's upscaling, even it can't take a 4:3 signal and turn it into 16:10 without it looking all pixelated.

I was just going to suggest this - I know the PS2 has 16x9 mode -

Freak - I'm not 100% sure, but, I believe you are connecting the PS2 via its s-video cable. The yellow cable, in the standard RGA connection is what is called composite video. S video is still analog but it produces a better image than composite, yellow, video cable. Component video cables are the blue green and red, Rb, Yb, Bb - I believe - these are digital video cables.

Anyway - Its good to hear the image got better after switching the output to 16x9 format.

My 2007wfp is scheduled for delivery on monday. So I'll report back but I hope to have a very similar experience to yours and XPS Crazy.

Thanks! It's REVA00. Where do you get the software to use the portrait mode for the monitor? MY monitor is experiencing the banding and I'm on Chris's list but there's no ETA on when I will receive my new monitor. This is very frustrating.

Thanks for posting your camera shots. Your monitor certainly doesn't have the banding appearance like the other pics posted so far, though the rippling effect is certainly distracting. BTW I am wondering why did you get Rev A02, what happened to Rev A01?

maybe A01 is already distributed in the not fixed FP model range.
trying to avoid further confusion?

The forum might have some incompatibility with other browser such as firefox. Try using Internet Explorer to open it. That should do the trick.

I'm sorry about the distracting ripples. If you still require a clearer shot, any expert photographer that can explain how to get rid of the rippling effect? I've tried taking few other shots but still cant get an undisturbed copy.

Anyway, I'm from the other side of the world in South East Asia. Maybe that's why I got it faster than u guys in US?

I'm still waiting to see a shot that says "Rev A02" or whatever, but I don't see a reason to doubt that a flashed monitor or two might have been shipped. It seems at this point that they have been shipped to asia and not the US, though I might be mistaken.

And I was using the single yellow jack to connect my PS2 to my 2007WFP, not S-Video, I could have remembered the name S-Video =P (I've had the HD cables for PS2/Xbox for awhile, so I never had the S-Video. In order to connect to the monitor I couldn't use the HD cables, so I had to settle for the single yellow cable) 4:3 PS2/Xbox looks terrible on this monitor, though I've played some 4:3 videos and they upscaled quite nicely thanks to the Farouj scaler. Has anyone tried this monitor with a VGA Cable/The Xbox 360? I'm on the fence about buying one, I know that the second I do the HDMI/DVI cable will come out and I'll be cursing myself for the 40 dollar waste.

Here's hoping that our monitors with the fix are about ready to ship

jeffp123, portrait mode is part of your video card drivers.  If you have an nVidia card it is in the nVidia setting in the lower right tray (by the clock).  The ATI is similiar but can't remember exactly. If you have the latest drivers you won't have any problems.

its under displays....and then within the options for the specific display.
This is not an auto-sense function though...you have to switch manually between portrait and landscape.
Dell supposedly has a sensing driver that autiomates this, but I cnt find it anywhere.

You can find a shot saying its a REV A02 and a comparisson between my 1704FPT, and also another shot of the gradient test with less ripple effect.

I've called to enquire about my new version, and the sales person told me only about 5 units are available with REV A02. I'm one of the lucky ones. The rest still getting REV A00 BUT they also did mentioned some of the REV A00 is already fixed.
