It's not true. I just recieved my 2007WPF yesterday and was concerned. So, I called support. Turns out, sales made a mistake and posted a new model the 2707WFP. BTW It's not a 20".

mshelton1984,

If that is true (which I doubt), it is news to me. Typically, the Sales page has mistakes while the User Guide does not.

Yes, I would also like to know what you think about the banding problem being 'fixed'? I got 3 referbs that had major issues but all different depending on the rev. Thinking about buying one new insted. Can you tell what kind of panel in in it as well? Not sure how you would do this but cant get anybody to talk to me about it being a IPS or PVA panel in the 2007's. Thanks for any review info you can provide!

I won't know until tomorrow. I purchased the monitor with a Dimension 9200 system as a Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law. I doubt they would even notice, but I'll sure evaluate it when I see it set up. I'll post back with my thoughts.

Robothead,

Well, I think I won the lottery. I went into the service menu and it appears to be an RT803, Rev A03, assembled in Mexico. If what I've been reading is true, it appears to be a IPS panel. I tried different desktop colors and saw no banding to speak of. I did notice a very slight light leakage on the left and right edges when the screen was black. I was not to concerned about this as it didn't affect a normal screen and will probably dissipate with usage. One thing that did kind of peeve me was whoever handled the panel was careless and put greasy smudges and finger prints on the right half of the unit. Fortunately, a damp cloth removed it all. All in all I am very happy with the monitor. I don't know if my satisfaction level would have been the same with a PVA panel though. Also, the unit was purchased through Small Business and shipped out of Austin TX if that means anything.

Good Luck

Good to hear someboy is happy with the product Dell is pushing. Ive had the worst time with Dell and this issue; they dont want to hear that people are actually researching what type of panel they are useing in these models. Think I will stay away from Dell due to the sour taste their products have left me with. I liked the bells and wistels Dell boasts but have since found out not the best reviewed monitor in its price rage for image quality anyway. Good luck with your Dell product and let us know of any future development with the monitor! Thanks for your input!

Yea, I agree. Like I mentioned in another thread, Dell is under-estimating their customer's intelligence to research a product before they spend a few hundred dollars on it. I'm hoping that the backlash of all of this will prompt them to switch back to S_ISP *permanently* by the time I'm ready to buy next month.

If not, I'll be going with the NEC 20WMGX2 instead.

Chris_M, any word on this issue from the "higher-ups" yet?

Thanks
