2007WFP replacement, got a 2007FP instead

So I was sent a 2007FP instead of the 2007WFP that I was supposed to recieve.  I followed Chris M's instructions to the letter.  I am at work so I cannot check the rev of the incorrect monitor, but ill bet its an old one.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Dell customer care chat told me they were out of stock on the 2007WFP  so they sent me "a higher quality more expensive monitor" instead.  The person I was talking to could not seem to realize that I bought this thing specificaly for the W ... widescreen.

Whats the next step, I have no clue. Any suggestions?

If you click on the order number it will give you details about the order.  It will give you a description that is not recognized by the website search, but within the desc it will cleary say wither 2007FP or 2007WFP

Did it say 2007FP in your "my orders" account or did it say 2007wfp?

My order status did not and still does not list details.  Just a part number that is not recognized by the DELL search engine.  I am assuming it is for the replacement monitor, but I have no way of knowing for sure.  I have recieved a 2007FP instead of 2007WFP.  PM'd CrhisM and he said to return it and I'm back on the list again to get the correct monitor.

Edit:  The order status was updated and now lists the wrong monitor 2007FP as being sent.  So the monitor I received today is the monitor that is listed in production.  At any rate I am sending the new srong monitor back and am back in line for the 2007WFP.

All,

My apologies. We are on it. Open the box and use the return airbill to send the 2007FP back to us. The dispatchers will setup another order to send out the 2007WFP. PM me the original order number and I will get it straightened out.

I also got the 2007FP as a replacement for the 2007wfp too.

Just a quick update.  As I said I PM'd ChrisM yesterday about the wrong monitor being sent and my order status already shows a new 2007WFP in production.  So if you have the wrong monitor just PM ChrisM and it will get things moving again.  A pain yes, but ChrisM is definitely working fast for those of us with a problem.

I can second that dARF.  Chris M got back to me within 20 minutes of PMing him about the wrong monitor being sent.  By the next morning I had the correct monitor on my account set as in production.

Thanks again to Chris M.  Always great customer service from Chris M!!!!!!!

It wouldn't be so bad for us if the sent us th 2407 in place of the 2007 so that the replacement is still a widescreen monitor. But I guess that price difference is too much for Dell to handle.

Yep as of about an hour ago my 2007WFP is in transit to the carrier.  So if it is anything like the delivery for the 2007FP it will be here tomorrow before noon!!!!!! I CANT WAIT TO GET IT HOME AND TEST IT OUT.  I will be counting the seconds until 5 o clock quitting time.

Thanks again ChrisM  Im going to send an email to your boss telling him what a great job you are doing.  And how you excelled when Dell continual dropped the ball on this issue.  Thanks a million.

Everyone that got a fixed working monitor should call or email dell and tell them to give Chris M a raise and a promotion,

Just check my order status and the newest monitor is on its way.  I think the order status is the best thing to check if you are in the return cycle.  It would be nice for DELL to send confirmatory emails, but at least there is a way of finding out what is happening.

I got my 2007WFP replacement yesterday afternoon.  It is a RevA02 from mexico and the panel looks great.  I used Checkemon and everything works well.  The monitor is brighter and mine does not have the uneven brightness issue that somehave reported.  No banding and the text is sharper than the old panel.  Although this was a trial in patience, ChrisM came through.  I hope the everyone gets a monitor that is to their satisfaction.

My time line:

Recived 2007WFP Rev A00 from China 6/6/06 - FedEx delivery.

PM'd ChrisM on 6/8/06.

Received 2007FP on 6/20/06 - Airborne (DHL) Express delivery.

PM'd ChrisM on 6/20/06 about wrong monitor and returned 2007FP.

Received 2007WFP RevA02 from Mexico 6/22/06 - FedEx delivery.

Returning 2007WFP Rev A00 from China 6/23/06 - just waiting on Airborne to come.

A big thanks to ChrisM for all the time and help in rersolving this issue.
