2007WFP Specification question

I ordered a 2007WFP monitor the other day. I was wondering what revision I will get? Will it be the latest revision? Or are older revisions still being sold? And I would like to know what panel is inside the monitor, is it S-IPS or S-PVA? Thank you in advance.

The revision you most likely will be getting currently is A03 when ordered new, in which case you also get an S-IPS based panel. Afaik all A03 panels are S-IPS. Any previous revision is entering a lottery as Dell is unable to check what type of panel has been used in those products hence the many folks that have exchanged their monitor up to 4 or 5 times to get the S-IPS panel they expected to get based on the excellent reviews of the leading magazines. Unfortunately, it is also more than likely you get the annoying flicker and font ghosting issues, both of which should not exist at all. Check this forum and do a search on Google, if you like. Stress, eye-fatigue or worse, reflex epilepsy (which in this case is not caused by excessive gaming or something), are health risks that are very real. I am not kidding - just check the many neurological studies on this! Dell simply must have decided to ignore the issues because they have been deaf, mute and blind for it. Besides, at the blinding ;) default brightness level of 50% (WAY too bright IMO) many people do not seem to notice it (at first). My previous monitor (a 1901FP) did not have flickering issues at all and was a real pleasure to look at for many hours a day. The 2007WFP, unfortunately, is not. But I am not sending an otherwise great monitor back with the risk of entering into a panel lottery myself. You know what's ironic? Dell wants to help saving the environment by letting us pay extra for trees they wish to plant with every product we buy. Wow, that's an awesome and lovely green idea you've presented there Michael but still I wish you and your company took responsibility regarding the health of the customers and product issues first. After that I really don't mind paying that little extra for trees. Heck, I'll be glad to help planting them myself!

Well I got mine today and I don't notice any flickering or ghosting. Guess I got lucky. I've set the default brightness down though, it is bright indeed. I do get the feeling however it is a bit rough on the eyes.

Not true. The latest revision is A03, but that includes both S-IPS and S-PVA panels. There's no way to know which you will get...thus the "lottery". Thanks Dell. Good luck!
