2209WA vertical dark smudge left edge

Question

This problem continues to get worse. The dark irregular line or smudge is on the left side, runs vertically where taskbar edge used to be. It is hard to see on white or black background, but all other colors are really bad. Attached photograph is with medium gray background; the taskbar is narrower now, as shown in picture, in an attempt to fix problem.

I have tried a different monitor, ports, video card drivers and even tried this monitor on a separate computer and the problem does not go away. I have also tried the 2209WA -Other Settings -LCD Conditioning but the problem remains the same.

That is a physical defect inside the monitor. If under warranty, and you only have a Dell order number for your monitor, you should contact Order Support for your country. If you purchased the monitor bundled with a Dell PC, contact Technical Support for your country. They will need the following data -
