2407 1:1 Pixel mapping

Hello, Late last year my home was burgled and my much loved 2405 went out the window. Insurance replaced the 2405 with 2407(A03 i believe) and I've been very happy with it until just recently. I attempted to run a game at a lower resolution but with 1:1 pixel mapping to avoid scaler artifacts. I used this feature a lot with the 2405 but since I've been playing WoW almost exclusively I can run it at native res perfectly well, however I cannot select 1:1 with the 2407. Googling the problem suggests that 1:1 mapping is buggy on the 2407 and that the later revision fixes this problem. Is there a work around for this? Is possible to update my firmware (if that is the only relevant change in the A04)? Thanks you.

You cant reflash the monitor and dell will not do it also. Unless you manage to return it but you will get a refurbished one which can be even a02, worse. The only workaround of the issue is to select lower resolution of the game, turn on 1:1 (it will show on some resolutions), then switch to higher and it will stay! Very... well... but it is at least something ;)

:) Thank you for the response, I'll try that out tonight. I have a high tolerance for quirks so, just maybe I wont resort to begging at Dells doorstep ;) Cheers.

Just tested that technique and unfortunately it's not working.

1:1 becomes selectable but as soon as you change resolution the menu disappears.
Alternatively, selecting 1:1 then changing the resolution flips the monitor back
into scaling mode.

Any more advice? :)

I had an A03 and had to put up with the same issues, however I couldn't stand the fact that it could not do 1:1 @ 1600x1200 and would not remember aspect settings at lower resolutions so I called Dell up and they exchanged my A03 for an A04.

On the A04 the aspect settings are finally selectable and it remembers the settings, Yay!

:D
