2407 RevA01 received :S
Hi,
Much to my dismay i received a 2407 RevA01 yesterday. I hate it, the banding makes the screen useless for any multimedia applications e.g. photoshop, which was my primary reason for buying the screen.
I was specifically told 3 times that it would be a RevA02 as i was aware of the issues with the earlier revisions.
How come when some countries are receiving RevA03 Australia is getting this ? Am i able to return this for something that i can actually use?
Anyone else been in this situation? I am still awaiting a reply email from my Dell rep in Sydney.

It has at least one manufacturers defect, banding, and all other problems, most A02's have banding also and that won't be any good for Photoshop either.
You want an A03, but probably not shipping to AU yet, as some here are waiting for that.
Return and tell Dell, they sent you a defective monitor, wanted it for work and this monitor is unacceptable for your work and livelihood (job) don't pay restocking fee, they can set up pick up return and Dell pays return shipping. It’s their fault, defective monitor.
You'll have to wait for an A03 when they ship and hope that it meets your needs for Photoshop.
As I stated here before, Photoshop experts, graphics artists use caution when buying a 2407 A03 only, it may be good enough, but then may not be. They are great for casual users.
You can use an A02 with VGA which has no banding, I wouldn't want to, cause it’ll band in DVI.
AU and Sweden no A03's yet, unless anyone knows different.
Return it. Don’t wait for email, some are waiting weeks for an A03 confirmation. Return at Dell’s expense, now before you get stuck
Hope that helpsJ

BenQ 241W is out for sale at Newegg.com 799.00 U.S. Extended warrnty 3 yers total 6 years add 180.00.
Samsung 245T out soon, I think.
What would you do? If you had basically identical 2407's, One LCD has one dead pixel, plus one "on" pixel, white on red NE of center, that's a China A03 restickered only 100 use hours and the other, no dead, no on pixels, Mexico new A03. Which would you keep?

Get that in writing, get an email confirmatiom and a "case number" established, that is the only way to prove what the Dell Rep. told you or otherwise you have nothing, so to speak.
t666,
I blinked to write a sentence and a short story appeared in front of me.:)
Cool, thanks for the information:)
So far, my plight,
2-2407's refurb's sent as new, now replaced with new good ones.
1-2407 refurb was replaced with refurb that is better than a new replcement for that second refurb. Good Grief! Dell still owes me (1) good new one. All A03's of course.
If tht chip was turned off in A01 to correct banding it would still be the same in the A02's,
as T666 is stating.
It's not till the A03, when the "soft dither" option in the service menu appears and that was the addition of a noise filter that corrects banding in desktop mode and a little in Multimedia mode .
A02's, DVI banding unacceptable for everything but Word Doc's., using VGA no banding is not what it's suppose to be. Just my opinion.

Yes I had 3-2407's A02's all banding in gradient tests and grasdient in video hgames and SD video. Not in some other apps. though.
I have 2 2407 A03's new and 1 2407 refurb that dell owes me a new one.
The A03's eliminate the banding in Desktop mode, that's the version everyone wants now and don't let anyone tell you anything different.
If you exchange, keep the best most level stands of course. My three are within 1/10 of a centimeter side to side now. the worst was 6/10 of a cm.

Ps: 3 of my stands sloped by 6-8mm
Im intersted in these things aswell
Are the other modes fixed?
Can u save settings for each mode? otherwise modes are usless anyways
If you cant save settings you have to manualy change the settings anyways i cant see the point
Is dhcp 1080i/p possible and is component input quality been fixed atleast to the quality of the 2405?
Peace
