Im not sure I understand the situation though. Are you telling Dell is knowingly continuing to ship defective monitors? I thought they halted shipments and flashed all of the firmware weeks ago. Why would they continue shipping monitors that they know they will have to replace? I just spent a lot of money of have a defective item show up at my doorstep. Not cool Dell. Not cool at all.

But, I thought with the A02, color banding was only fixed in Desktop mode. So, does this mean color banding is also fixed in multimedia/games modes on A02? ChrisM said in response to MORLOCK20006 that he was "correct". Perhaps this was a misunderstanding (or perhaps I misunderstand)?

plus, even in desktop I see lots of banding in vertical gradients using DVI (none using RGB), with the new Mexico A02 2407.
maybe LCD are just like that, but then why do I see DVI photos from 2405 that don't show it and why is the banding gone in RGB hookup??

Stupid question, how do I know what mode I am in. Yes, I know how to use the menue and I highlighted gaming mode but for the life of me I see no difference....between that and desktop...is there something that I should different in the two modes?
