2407WFP A03 Problems
I ordered a 2407WFP display on Sunday (9/24). It arrived today and made a great first impression. But within minutes the problems started...
At seemingly random but short intervals (under a minute to 15 minutes) the display stops functioning. The image goes away, the buttons on the front panel don't respond (including the power button, although the power button and video input 2 indicators stay lit up). When I unplug the power cable and then plug it back in the monitor will work again.
In addition to apparent random blackouts, the same thing happens when I do very specific things. So far I've noticed the same effect when I start to play a video from QuickTime Player and when I use Expose to show the desktop.
I'm using a Dual 1.8 GHz PowerMac G5 running OS X 10.4.7 with 1.5 Gb of RAM and an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 card. The monitor is connected through the DVI port without any adapters. Apple's specifications for this computer say "Support for digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels"
I called Dell's tech support earlier today and was told to unplug the display when it shuts off.
Additionally, the monitor is not level. The left side is 1/4" higher than the right side. I would appreciate advice from someone who has experience dealing with Dell.
Thanks,
Dave

I use an old TI4600 with two 2407's, everthing's fine so far:)
Forget about tech support and call customer service, insist politely on a new monitor 2407WFP A03 and state the manufacturers defects, faulty power supply, defective stand and button panel malfunction. If they still don't get it, nicely tell them you are totally disatisfied as a new Dell customer and return for a full refund. Also tell them to send you a pre paid shipping label A.S.A.P. Don't let them stall. Know your warranty.
KevinR100, I didn't miss anything here, did I? :)
Both my stands are within 1/10 of a cm. side to side, even I couldn't believe it at first, had to remeasure several times :) LOL
Hope that helps:)

Additionally, since my first post I noticed that the monitor can rotate 90 degrees (for portrait or landscape). So the issue with it not being level is solved, too.
