I haven't received a response from anyone regarding the flicker issue I am having with the 2407WFP A04.
At this time I would like to request a replacement. Since this is a continuous issue from the initial order, I am expecting a NEW monitor - not refurbished and/or used.
I've got a similar issue on the 2407WFP that I have. It flickers and flashes the dvi icon in the upper left corner. In addition, it has red or blue lines flickering across the screen unless I turn the monitor off/on again.
I do have the Vista drivers installed, downloaded from the Dell Downloads website for my machine.
To clarify what my flicker is:
When I come to the computer and move the mouse to get the monitor out of stand by, the entire screen flickers, but more prominently on the left half side. To give in example, it's almost like when you turn a florescent light on and it flickers for a moment before it comes on full power.
256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO (Latest version from Dell Website for Vista)
I would rule out the display adapter because all I did was switch out the display when the replacement arrived. I had the same exact thing except the old one was A03.
Please also note the flicker only occurs for a minute or two after coming out of standby and then the flicker disappears - so I would rule out any software issues.
Good idea about trying the analog cable.. I did both, made sure everything was tight and got the same results. I don't understand this at all - I don't know what would cause it to flicker for only a minute in the first place...
How should we proceed? At this time I believe it would be an absolute necessity to replace. I'm concerned that this flicker could progress into something worse in the future.

Reason: 2407WFP A04 Flicker Issues

This flicker is normal and caused by the lamp current stabilizing after power up or recovering from standby. When in power save mode, the lamps get turned off and when recovering, the lamps get turned back on. They come back on slowly and it takes a few minutes for the lamps to fully stabilize. This is why we wait 20 minutes of warm up before we make start testing.
The previous 2407 I had before this did not flicker at all upon coming out of standby, this would lead me to believe that the issue is not normal. Wouldn't that make sense?
ChrisM, Yeah, the other 24 doesn't have the same flicker issue. But what is more of an issue for me is the red horizontal lines flickering and random pixel flickering also. What other kind of info do you need to help get this resolved? Thanks, Marcus

Do both of you have the Vista monitor driver loaded? How does the 2407WFP show in the device manager?

What video card driver is loaded? Have you tried other video card drivers?
