2407WFP - UK - very pleased !
I have just received my 2407WFP monitor (A02 version) today after paying just £619 last week in Dells sale. I had read all the moans and groans on the internet and was dreading finding dead pixels or banding problems. It was manufactured in the Czech Republic and this monitor is pixel perfect. I cant see any sign of the banding problems that was so widely reported either. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase.

However I guess all LCDs have this and that kind of problems. The other aspects of this monitor seems to be pretty good.

Mine arrived last week - same deal. All in all an excellent purchase and a great price for the UK.

There's absolutely no banding in desktop mode, minor banding in media mode and more banding in gaming mode. I don't see myself switching often from desktop mode and I can understand the trade off for faster response times in the other modes.
Here's one test image used: http://www.spronkey.com/sdc-gradients.png
I guess it all comes down to expectations.
Perhaps dell should've realeased the monitor under the pretense that it has: Two extra "post processing" modes that "increase response time, brightness and contrast with a relative decrease in graduation range". I'm sure most people would've though that seemed like a reasonable trade off.
