2408WFP and i1Display pro

Hi all.

My English is worst, but I don't know where I can have help for it question.

There is the old and sweet device as Dell 2408wfp.

I have question, how I can corect calibrate it with device of xrite, i1Display pro and can I find dccs (Dell color calibration solution for it or for device of that type).

If I just take that monitor and calibrator device, use i1profiler, set that monitor as ccfl with wide gamut matrix and calibrate monitor I have different results than on other device (apple cinema display 27). The color is very colder, than on apple monitors, or on my lg tv. Not always, but some light diapasons. If I set other type of matrix, so I will have other result of color. As I understood, xrite doesn't have a corrected color patch for that device.

1. That device can't calibrate with i1Display pro? With spectrophotometer only?

2. If that device can calibrate with i1Display pro, so must I have a some addons for i1profiler? dccs, or some settings? I had search information by google, but people don't jut out in that subj, as I understood.

2. If can' so need me add a some patches (dccs for that device)

Apologies for missing your post. Dell never tested the six year old 2408WFP with the Dell version of the DUCCS or any other calibration software or hardware. You should contact X-rite directly for support of their retail software and hardware.

What I have.

1. A "Green" color shift/lag after a calibration with legacy xrite application (i1profiler).

"I have looked at information on the display.

It uses a Samsung Wide Gamut CCFL backlight so try that in the backlight technology setting.

1.       Initially reset your monitor back to factory defaults - There is usually a setting in the ‘on screen menu’ (OSD). The OSD can usually be accessed by pressing the menu buttons on the front of the monitor. It is always a good idea to familiarise yourself with the settings available through the monitors on OSD, as it will be used whenever you profile the monitor.

2.       If the monitor has a colour temperature setting in the OSD set it to 6500K (D65).

3.       Start the i1 Profiler software and select the ‘Advanced’ user mode and click on the ‘Display Profiling’ from the top of the left hand pane.

4.       In the ‘Display Settings’ section select the correct ‘Technology Type’ for your screen (this can be found from the display’s instruction manual or manufacturer’s web site) In your Case Wide Gamut CCFL.

5.       In the ‘White Point’ section set your desired color temperature (D65 – best for photography)*.

6.       In the luminance section select your desired screen brightness (usually 100cd).

7.       In the Gamma section select ‘Standard’ in the ‘Tone Response Curve’ drop down and set the Gamma to 2.2.

8.       Set the Contrast ratio to ‘Native’ and un-check both the ‘Flare Correct’ and ‘Ambient Light Smart Control’.

9.       Click ‘Next’ (bottom right).

10.     In the ‘Profile Settings’ section tick the Use Defaults’ box, but in the ICC Profile Version drop down select ‘Version 2’ rather than 4, this is because v4 is not supported by certain applications and operating systems and can cause unexpected results.

11.     Click ‘Next’

12.     In the ‘Patch Set’ section select the large patch set (for more accuracy).

13.     Click ‘Next’

14.     In the measurement section un-tick the ADC and tick the ‘Adjust brightness, contrast and RGB gains manually’ option.

15.     Click on Start Measurement and place the device on the screen. In the top left dialogue just have the brightness ticked in the adjustments and click next.

16.     This will then run the profile. Initially it will prompt you to adjust the brightness of the screen to bring it down to the 100Cd level using the monitors OSD and then, once set, it will profile your screen. Just make sure that the monitor’s OSD is not under the i1 Display Pro as it will give incorrect readings. There is usually an OSD setting to move the window away from the centre of the screen.

17.     Once the readings have been made click ‘Next’ and save the profile with a suitable name.

* If you are still getting some colorcast with the profile produced, it may be

improved by using ‘Native’ in the white point setting (see step 5)."

I understand that we must not to support this Dell model. But maybe will you can to help me. Be give a some advice.

I don't know what I can to do with that dell monitor. It works. be showing normal colors, but I don't know, how rite to calibrate it.
