C2722DE, DDM, asign Excel to specific zone?
I have a Dell C2722 monitor, I installed DDM (Dell Display Manager) and split into three zones. I'd like to program/configure so that all Excel windows open in the left half of the C2722DE. How do I make that possible, any ideas?
I set the zones and fit the window, but anytime I open new Excel or other applications in other zones, it opens outside the zones? Any Dell or third party software that can help with this?
I tried contacting Dell support, but the tech support line wasn't very informed on this type of solutions.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Most applications - including Excel - open in the position and at the size they were last closed at, and in most cases and for most people that suffices.
But if you really want DDM to try to recall and position an application window when it opens, do the following:
1. Close DDM if its running
2. Open a CMD prompt and enter the following command:
"REG add HKCU\Software\EnTech\DDM /v RecallAppPosition /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f"
3. Restart DDM
4. Right-click on the DDM system tray icon and make sure "Auto-restore window layout" is checked
5. Open Excel and put it where you want it
6. Close all instances of Excel
7. Open Excel again and it should go where you placed it at step 5
Repeat step 7 again and again and you'll end up with each instance of Excel on top of the previous instance

so far I think it worked, I'll restart and try with different apps. I did have another situation which may not be a dell display manager issue. MS Teams active meeting, window doesn't fit into the two small windows on the right, my current split is one full window on the left and then two boxes on the right. I cannot fit teams into the two boxes on the right see screen shot.

Some apps by design - and this would include DDM itself - cannot be sized, or have minimum and/or maximum sizes. If you run into a case like this, try to manually resize the window to fit the area you are targeting. If you cannot do it manually, then DDM cannot do it either.
(I think you'll find Teams windows have minimum heights and widths.)
