Calibration hangs after 16th blue patch

Hi, I'm trying to calibrate my u2725qe using the latest version of dell colour management but for some reason the app always stops after the 16th blue patch is shown. The mouse is still visible and moves, caps lock is working but the screen is stuck and I can't get the desktop back or even get the machine to shutdown normally via the power button, I have to force a power off.

Running win11 all drivers, etc are up to date.

Anyone experienced this before and have a solution?

Just checked Dell Color Management 3.5 after reading this entry and you/Dell should be aware that this software provided by Portrait Displays lacks of colorimeter corrections for Xrite colorimeters and W-LED PFS phosphor displays, like the ones used in 9x% P3 display of yours. Look at:

C:\ProgramData\Portrait Displays\CW\data\i1D3
The appropiate EDR is missing. So even if Dell Color Management run calibration without issue, resulting whitepoint will be off because it was applied a wrong colorimeter correction. It may have applied RGB LED (outdated since the days of HP LP2408x) or GBLED (like my old U2413 and no longer used since U3014 / NEC PA272W or Eizo CS2730).
Resulting whitepoint error, verificable with DisplayCAL an the proper correction depends on each colorimeter unit (its firmware data), hence cannot be predicted in a max value of deviation. I'll guess less that 4dE.
If you (dell guys) paid Portrait Displays for a HW cal solution...
a) you were cheated and got a not fully working solution.
b) you know these limitations and proceed anyway.
IMHO these issues should be solved whoever is the culprit (my guess is Portrait Displays)

Xrite has a few corrections for WLED with PFS/KFS phosphors used on 9x% P3 displays.
One of them was distributed with i1Profiler (till 3.7.1, last one supported by i1DisplayPro/Plus): Panasonic VVX17P051J00.edr
Another pack distributed with Calman/LightIllusion/Benq as a "jack of all trades" for whole PFS family regardless of where is located green/red primary (that means not specifically tailored for each particular display type, but works reasonably good): PFS_Phosphor_Family_31Jan17.edr

When a vendor provided app is missing the proper EDR, usually people use a file replacement (rename the wrong EDR, paste the good one, rename file), but you need to know which one is using... and that is usually hardcoded and not visible to user unless trial and error. On specific apps it may be needed fukll spectral data replacement to preserve binary headers on the wrong EDR... it depends on each case. Usually file replacement works.

Calibrite Profiler app (3.0.2), the official app for current i1d3 colorimeters (Calibrite display HLs) also lack of colorimeter corrections for almost ALL modern displays for the same reason as Dell Color Management: they lack of colorimeter corrections. Even if UI says the opposite... they don't.
So no actual support for WLED PFS 95% P3 (like these consumer P3 displays), no support for older P3 Apple WLED PFS display (exactly P3), no support for AdobeRGB+P3 photo edition WLED PFS displays, no support for QLED miniled in latest P3 Apple displays, no support for AdobeRGB+P3 photo edition QLED displays...and so on.
Only White LED (sRGB only), RGB LED(outdated and abandoned technology since 2012 maybe earlier) and GB-LED (older 2013 LED widegamut from Dell for example, outdated)

It seems that the extent of EDR pack distribution for propietary software using Xrite SDK depends on the companies paying for one pack or another... but this better to ask to developer: Portrait Displays.
ArgyllCMS and its ecosystem (DisplayCAL/HCFR) have no such limitations, they use text format "EDR" called CCSS where you are free to add whatever you want, translated to text data from official EDRs or user/community measured with an spectrophotometer and shared with community.
As you can see yours is WLED PFS, although it was measured at 3nm so typical spectral red spikes are a little blured:

Anyway the problem you suffer on your computer is not related to EDR, just happened that after reading you I checked latest DCM v3.5 and I found this.

MSI calibration app for certain displays/laptops is also provided by Portrait Displays "mini-custom-calman" like the app from dell... and also lacks of EDR for all these "modern" widegamut displays (WLED PFS, QLED) hence my guess that the culprit is Portrait Displays offering their customers (Dell in this case, not you) a sub featured app in order to avoid paying full EDR pack fee to Xrite (the actual developer of the driver to device, which is a software component different from calibration app).

That why I addessed Chris instead of you, because Dell will be the one who has beed served with a subfeatured app maybe different from what they asked for.
