Can't get better quality picture

Question

Please, please please help me!

I have a dimension 2400.

I had a worm infection on my PC (Blaster worm) and had to reinstall XP.

Most seems to be OK now, but I cannot get the picture quality to be any higher than "Medium 16bit"...I have followed instructions to install driver, but it tells me to go to;

display properties -- Settings ---- Advanced ---- Monitor -----Properties

Problem is, the Properties button is greyed out and won't click.

Any suggestions?

(All instructions just tell me to click on the Properties button, there seems to be no explanation of why it is greyed out)

Are you trying to reinstall Monitor or Graphics card drivers?  If Graphics card, try the 'Adapter' tab.  Better yet, go to the Device Manager and do the upgrades from there.

First, you don't need to reinstall Windows to get rid of blaster worm. Ruuning McAfee stinger and some other free tools will be sufficent to remove the virus.

As you said you reinstalled Windows, I assume you are an Administrator on your computer. If you somehow setup another restrictive account and use that one, you may not be able to change some Windows settings.
