Card reader failing on 2407WFP

I have a 2407WFP on a Vista system. I cannot get the card reader to work.  I get 2 icons in my computer which i assume are for the reader.  However, if I place a card in the reader, nothing happens.  A card with pictures on it would normally automatically be downloaded to Photoshop Elements on my computer. Also, if I try to access the drive in Computer, Windows Explorer stalls.  Any ideas?

All,

Did you both load the specific Vista/2407WFP driver?

Chris: I'm having the same difficulty that numerous other posters seem to have - namely, that the card reader does not seem to work on my 2407WFP monitor.  I have the USB cable attached, am running appropriate monitor driver (for XP), and can see in Explorer a drive letter representing (I think) the card reader port.  However, the system does not seem to recognize when I plug a card (a 4GB Lexar Professional 133x speed) into the reader slot on the monitor.

I haven't found a fix yet in the numerous posts I've skimmed regarding the same problem.  Can you offer any additional suggestions?

BDG68,

* Power off the monitor
* Disconnect all cables from the bottom/sides of the monitor
* Press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
* Reconnect all cabling back to the monitor, power cord being last
* Power on the monitor

Any difference?

Chris: Not for me - I'd seen that suggestion in reply to another post.  Since apparently it worked for at least on reader, I tried it when I saw it, but with no success.

The 923293 hotfix adds support for SD High Capacity memory cards in Windows XP.

Just reporting another instance of this problem. My current 2407WFP was replaced a month or so ago under warranty because of the common power switch problem. The card readers worked fine on my old monitor, and they also worked on this one until now. Apparently this is a random failure. Both the CF card slot and the SD card slots stopped working at the same time. Is there no fix for this? It looks more like a system problem than a hardware failure.
