DDM, how to stop layout interference?

Before I found this forum I emailed Dell Support but no reply so far and this issue is driving me nuts!

I want to manually manage my own windows layout on this Windows 10 PC. But all steps I've tried, including uninstalling DDM thoroughly, have failed to achieve this.

Whenever I restart this recently purchased U2415 (connected via the signal cable supplied to 'mDP') with the on/off touch button, it displays a 'resized' version of the layout I previously set in Easy Arrange before DDM was uninstalled! I've even tried using Device Manager to revert to the Microsoft generic driver, with no change. Here is a screenshot. Can someone please tell me how I can recover the normal situation please?

Layout problem:

While it cannot logically be anything to do with DWM (which is no longer installed) I am revising my earlier conclusion. It seems that it must be a Dell issue. It only arises after using the monitor power button. A PC reset does not cause the dramatic layout change.

And I was also wrong about it always being a vertical reduction by a factor of 0.63. The only consistency I've found so far is that all program windows are opened with the same size: 1022 x 736.

Note that 736/1200 = 0.63; which explains why the programs I had open at full height were resized by that factor. Not sure about the horizontal factor.

Can you help get to the bottom of this vexing problem please?

I replied to this yesterday with a simple 'nudge':

"No help?"

Why is it no longer diplayed?

More important, when can expect some technical help please?
