DDM/DDPM, Network KVM feature

The documentation for DDM 2.x, states =
"The Network KVM is only available for selected monitors that support this function"

Which Dell Monitors support DDM 2.x Network KVM feature? We want to disable Network KVM feature. When installing DDM 2.x for our fleet, can I specify in the command line DDM 2.x not to install the Network KVM feature?

On DDPM auto-update (v2.0.1.16) it installs itself even though it wasn't requested in the initial install :(

Plugin is located here: C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Display and Peripheral Manager\Plugins\NKVM

@DELL-Chris M There is no option in the Dell Monitor and Peripheral Manager to disable/remove the Network KVM plug-in.

The only option appears on the initial install.

The uninstall can be run manually from the plugin folder, but it doesn't seem to support a silent option which is annoying for bulk removal.

I finally found a solution for current (DDPM 2.1.2.12):

1. Uninstall from pc. Also unlinstall all Dell core components (I don't use Dell PCs).

2. Install using command:

.\DDPM-Setup_2.1.2.12.exe /networkkvm=on

This may change again in the future, so use the below command to make sure you're using the right option:

.\DDPM-Setup_[your_version].exe /h

DDM/DDPM does not activate Network KVM feature by default =

User needs to check Network KVM feature from installation UI or using following commands to install the Network KVM feature =

"ddmsteup.exe /InstallFeature=networkkvm"
"launchctl setenv INS_InstallFeature NetworkKVM && open DDPM_Installer.pk"

Related question:  Is it possible to disable or uninstall the Network KVM feature without full uninstall/reinstall of DDM/DDPM?

Did you try removing the checks from the Advanced Setup screen?

@JaEd6385 I am hoping this fizes an issue where my laptop has gone to sleep and the Dell 3221QS is blanked out is sleep mode. When I reactivate the laptop and bring it back from sleep mode it sometimes does not see the external monitor and I have ot remove the USB cable that connects to my dock and reconnect it or he monitor to be recognized again. It happens randomly 2/3 times and has only started recently happening after Windows 11 updates in March. That is when I noticed the Network KVM notice showing up as well.

This is insane software behavior. Same as @JaEd6385, I did not enable this feature when installing DDPM. I restarted my PC only to find my wired internet connection not working ("unidentified network"). Restarted my PC again and noticed a notification that said the "Network KVM will be activated soon." At first, I thought it was some type of malware since I never installed a network KVM. Nope - just Dell's software behaving as if it were malware. I ran the uninstall per @JaEd6385's post and my internet instantly worked again.

@DELL-Chris M please pass on my frustrations to the appropriate team. If I don't click to install the network KVM feature, I never want it to be automatically installed for me. Thx.

@jjcollective I had the exact same issue, I unselected DDPM on the new Dell Display update and notice the background service running this morning on PC restart. This recent update is not good software wise.

I am just going to try uninstall the Dell Core Services, Dell Core Peripherals and then Dell Display Apps. It is really concerning that a monitor needs this type of software. I just want my single monitor to function adjust the colours and brightness and that's it.

The new updates add GUI panels and needs many clicks to get things done and they killed the keyboard shortcuts. Worst the reliabilty has gone, I get locked on one CP and and can't use the outher one (I'm using PBP on an UW Monitor) and have disconnect the PC from the cluster just to use the other PC (laptop) if I restart the PC it works fine for a few minutes and then the mouse no longer moves to the second PC on the PBP window. Never happened until the updates.

@George McFarland Click Start, Type Control Panel, Enter, Programs and Features, Dell Display and Peripheral Manager.  Select it and above, click the change button.  (Don't double click that will take it to uninstaller).  Select Modify, untick the NKVM box, next, finish.  Done :)
