DDPM for macOS crashes with use, consistently

attempt to use DDPM on the latest version of macOS, and it crashes with every use. You can perform one operation, maybe, then crash. It's related to Rosetta, I believe.

Apple Silicon-based Macs are the future, folks. You've got to be working on software that is natively compatible for macOS, I would hope. Are you?

If some Dell developer wants to get in touch with me, I would be happy to provide logs for all the crashes. I have several.

I assume there are some bugs, or issues, with using the Rosetta compatibility layer. All the reports mention Rosetta in them.

This has happened across two different Mac mini models (M1 and M2).

I've tested with DDPM for Mac 1.1.0.0033 and 1.1.0.0034

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private monitor Service Tags.

You need to post the specific Dell monitor models that you are testing on. List which DDPM versions you have tested. Dell is not going to know what, "latest version of macOS" means. Spell it out.

None of the DDPM widget apps for the Mac work very well. They constantly crash, and getting them to work requires rebooting the computer, over and over again.

@LAM2023 I'm not glad that it's happening, but I'm glad to get some confirmation that it's not just me.

I kept getting asked in private messages if I have any Dell systems to test this on…. and I keep thinking… but this is a Mac problem… with your software

Dell policy dictates that Dell Technical Support agents are required to first ascertain the purchased warranty.

None of our Dell Technical Support agents are trained in Apple macOS computers. They are trained in Dell PCs running Windows OS.

The DDM/DDPM team does have some Apple computers to test on. Which ones, we do not know.

I am curious, have you both tested the earlier macOS DDM to see =
* Does it even install in macOS Ventura?
- If yes, how is it?
- If no, let us know

The camera is basically useless on an M1.

Same problem. Crashes at least every 30 minutes.

Dell U3821DW Display (37.5"). DDPM Version: 1.1.1.0017

Mac Studio (2022), 128 GB Memory, macOS Ventura 13.4.

Have been fighting this since the beginning. Worked with Dell tech support repeatedly and for a long time. For the price I paid for my monitor, this is outrageous. I'll never buy anything from Dell again. I should have known better.
