Dell 1905FP and some strange problems

Dear all,

I purchased a Dell 1905FP monitor with my 8400 system and I've noticed some strange things. So I'd like to know if you had same problems.

1) When a black image is shown (for example Windows XP screen saver) an orange line appears on the contour of the screen, depending of the angle of vision.

2) I noticed that the screen is brighter on the left upper and bottom corners than on the rigth upper and bottom corners.

3) My screen has a dust in the right bottom !! I verified that it was not dead pixel, and it's a dust !!

So, Could you please give me feedback about these points ?
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Hi yann89

I have a Dell 1905FP monitor but do not have any problems as you have written.
Dell has a 21 day return policy. You have a faulty monitor what you have describe on the corners left and right are known as light bleeding or leakage and the Orange line
that appear. I must say you have to call Dell customer service and get a replacement. They will send you a new one and you send back the faulty 19inch monitor.

Please let us know when you get a new 1905.

My original 1905 had a overall washed out look and light leakage in all 4 corners. The replacement 1905 Dell sent was so much better than the first! I hope you have similar success.

Thanks all for your answer.

Dell will send me another monitor.

I've got another question about gaming. I've noticed on my 1905FP some remanence on FPS games such as Call of Duty.
Dell support told me to upgrade video card drivers, and monitor drivers.

Do you play on Dell 1905FP and have you remanence ?

Dell gives 20 ms response time on their monitor, but I doubt on this !

Thanks again

Hi yann89

The Dell 1905FP monitor has 25ms, it means you will see ghosting when playing fast and demanding games like Call of Duty. You need a 16 ms monitor which are Dell 2001FP, 2005FPW or 2405FPW these are the best monitor to get.You can play some computer games that that are lest demanding like children computer games like Barbie or Toy story.
Dell support that say to upgrade video card and driver software are wrong. The 19inch is slow because of its 25ms not 20 ms. Remember, the Dell Ultrasharp is a top of the line monitors that are use by busines for data, accounting, colleges and word processing and speadsheets.

If you want to play computer games you might want to look at www.hardforum.com that will give information. The 2001FP or 2005FPW are the two monitors I know that some people use for games and whatch DVD movies.

I feel I am extremely lucky, or my eyes are so bad I do not see the ghosting.

Americas Army, Call For Duty, Medal of Honor, All Flight Simulation games all look fine to me on my 1905. Running with a 8400, nVidia 6800 and latest drivers.

Then again what may be OK to me might not be OK to others....
