Dell 24" LCD screen is WHITE

Hello All -

I have a Dell 24" LCD monitor for ~2 years. Over the weekend, the monitor screen will go "white" after being powered on for 4-5 mins. This will occur if the monitor is connected to the PC or NOT.

So if the monitor isn't connected to my PC, it will self test, then eventually turn white.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Souns like monitor is defective. Likely an inverter board. If you purchased a monitor separately you will have 3 year warranty. I would call Dell and have it fixed/replaced. If you purchased it with a system you still may be covered.

What if i bought the monitor from eBay? Would I still be covered under a dell warranty?

I belive the first owner has to fill in transfer form for the new owner to receive warranty. If you purched it of eBay new, then the 3 year warranty may be in effect. I do not know the details, but I would call Dell to find out. Maybe a moderator will shine some light on the subject.

Cheers,
