DELL 2405FPW - Fuzzy display problems.

I have had this great monitor for around a month. A problem has appeared whereby for no reason the display becomes slightly fuzzy and any text appears to be almost vibrating - very strange. This can happen after 5 minutes or 2 hours or any time in between. The remedy is to alter the refresh rate (It does not matter what it is altered from or to, I can go from 60 to 100) and the monitor then adjusts itself and all is well again.

Other than that it performs well. Is this likely to be a monitor or video card problem?

THanks

Which video card and connection (DVI or VGA) are you using? Make sure the vga or dvi cable is secured at both ends.

Try to degauss the monitor through the buttons on the front, and make sure there are no fans, or radios near the monitor. Also I would download the newest drivers for your Chipset, Video Card, and Monitor.

James - it's an LCD.. ain't no degaussing those. :smileywink:

Good thought on the fans / radios nearby. A poorly shielded cable could be bringing in RFI from nearby electronics. It can also happen if the monitor cable is routed over power cables. Try rerouting it and see if that helps at all.
