Dell 2709w Questions - Help Needed

I have just recently acquired a Dell 2709w 27'' monitor and I'm quite thrilled by the size of it compared to my old trusty 15'' Eizo. But I do have some questions and I would like to ask for your comments please:

1) I'm still trying to find the best .icc profile to be used with it, or the optimum settings through its menu, because the color reproduction doesn't feel fit...too much red I guess. In any case, I would really like your suggestions.

2) I have A02 revision (bought through Internet from UK) model. Where could I find the drivers, because the cd that came with, didn't have any. I'm using Windows 7 32bit at the moment and the ATI card (4770) seems to use the generic driver. I have been trying through this site but to no avail.

3) There seem to be an odd behavior with a the images, which seem quite pixelated...Facebook's for instance. Has anyone else noticed something weird like this before?

I am already grateful for your proposals/comments.

georgestri,

(1) You just have to play around with the color profiles. Each one will look different depending on your video card, video card driver, and operating system.

(2) We do not provide Windows 7 drivers. See if the Vista driver will load in Windows 7.

(3) Post a picture of the issue here

Thank you Chris for your prompt reply and your comments.

1) I have to be honest and I have also thoroughly checked the various suggestions people have made in several sites, but I wanted something more official. Some even suggested this .icc, which I have tried already, but the red color seems again a bit too "extreme". The vast majority mentioned that the monitor is quite bright and almost everybody chose to drop brightness to absolute zero. The reason I decided to ask around here initially, is because, nobody, I thought, would be more authorized to speak about the actual optimal settings that will reproduce the color spectrum other than Dell service. Let's say that I'm interested mostly in desktop environment and office applications.

2) I think that Vista drivers will probably work with Windows 7 as well, as in most cases, but I do hope that Dell will embrace the new OS as soon as possible, considering the trend towards it. Judging by the release date, there's been no driver upgrade for almost a year now for my model.

3) I will try to do that, but firstly, in order to avoid embarrassment, I will check a few issues first that might not have to do with the monitor.

I'm already grateful!
