dell p1110

using windows 98 se...dell p1110 21" monitor

seems the brightness/contrast control buttons cannot make adequate adjustments.  for example, i have the brightness setting at 0 and it is still too bright.  conversely, the contrast button is maxed out at 100 and that also seems inadequate.

could use some help.  thanks

sgtbye,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Try resetting the monitor through the osd controls to see if that will resolve the issue that you are having with the monitor.

sgtbye,

Take a look at the link below for instructions on using the monitor controls.

I have the same problem.  I have reset my monitor as shown at:

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

However, this did not fix the problem.  The default settings were way too bright.  I adjusted them back to brightness at 0, and contrast at 50.  Pure black (RGB = 0,0,0) colors still appear as gray.

I have noticed that I am not the only one with this problem with their P1110 monitor.

Please help me fix my monitor,

Thanks.

Did you ever found a solution?

I have the same problem, the monitor is getting very bright and no change using the provided interface does any good... I found some posts about some software that only Sony rep. have (DAS software) etc. http://www.network54.com/Forum/search?forumid=87612&more=1&sort=date&searchterm=P1110 and various very technical fixes, but it does not seem to be readely available or is to complecated for none eletronic savy people like me!

Help!

I did find a solution.  Read this thread:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=oplex_monitor&message.id=2527

I am about to test out that solution today and will post my results in that thread afterwards.  Tasc has already fixed his monitor using it, and I will hopefully be the second! :)
