Dell P2310Hs (Eyefinity) Not Going Into Power Save Mode
I just set up my new rig with 3x Dell P2310Hs, ASUS EAH5870, Win7 x64, and ASUS M4A79XTD EVO, etc etc. Newest drivers on all. Monitors are 2 DVI, 1 DisplayPort.
In Eyefinity, when the monitors are set to turn off either via power options or hotkey, the display goes black but the backlights stay on and the monitors don't go into power save mode. In extended desktop the DVI monitors shut off and went into power save as expected but the DP monitor acted the same as above. I'll admit that I'm new to DisplayPort and don't entirely understand how it works, but when just turning that monitor off the "disconnected device" sound plays and the display shifts on the other 2 monitors and isn't always happy about going back to normal.
I've tried disabling/enabling DDC/CI and changing power options but the display is turning off and coming back just fine so there aren't any devices keeping the computer from executing power options correctly. If set up, the power option to put the computer to sleep works just fine and the monitors DO go into power save at that point.
All in all, I'm thinking it's a monitor issue. Anyone have any ideas?

* Is that saying that the monitor on DisplayPort is functioning correctly?

If the computer itself goes to sleep, yes. Unless the computer is off or asleep though, power save mode does not activate.

Thanks for the reply. I actually ended up solving this one differently last night after some tweaking. Let me see if I can explain it.
I have 3 monitors, as stated above. I'll explain this as if we are looking at them left to right.
So, from left to right, the connections are DVI : DP : DVI
Windows identifies these monitors as 3 : 1 : 2 respectively.
When I was experiencing this issue I had created the Eyefinity display group using the "triangle > display group > create group" on monitor 1 (DP). Disabling the display group and creating the display group using monitor 3 (DVI) solved the problem immediately.
Things I had tried without success: Updating drivers/downgrading drivers (monitor and HD5870), Unplugging/resetting monitor.
I didn't go any more in depth than this though, so it could be a couple things that solved this. My guess is that I used the DVI connected monitor as opposed to the DP connected monitor. It could also be that it was the last in sequence by identity though. Heck, it could be as simple as disabling the display group and recreating it, regardless of display specifics.
For those having the issue try what I mentioned above and see if it works.
If you're not using them already, there are lots of options to turn your displays off without waiting for power options to kick in. I use PushMonitOff.
