Dell u2312hm mount problem: screw holes too deep
I bought a vesa compliant desktop mount for this monitor, but when I went to attach the plate in, the 2 top screws weren't long enough to screw in due to the additional thickness of the added plate. I tried the screws from the mount and the ones that were in there, but both aren't long enough. Do you need to buy special screws for these? The bottom ones worked fine, so it was just the top ones. I can see the metal plate that the screws are supposed to go into sunk deeper in than the bottom ones. Any help would be appreciated.

Insert a pin or similar into the holes to gain a measurement of the depth then subtract 2-3mm - call this 'length X'. Take the original screws to an engineering supplies store where they can measure the thread and then supply you with longer screws at 'length X'.
