Displaying HDTV on 2007WFP using STB (mod help please)

Yes I know, it's been asked a few times already but I'm having issues displaying HDTV on this monitor.

First and foremost I have an A02 version with no banding issues whatsoever using the supplied DVI cable and an ATI Radeon 9800 pro. Thank goodness for that.

I also happen to have a HDTV STB from Time Warner Cable that has DVI output. There is no model number on it. It is a Pioneer Voyager STB.

When I attach component cables to a HD ready set I receive HD content. When I attach a DVI to HDMI cable to the same set I receive HD content. The STB is set to display 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and the set adjusts accordingly.

When I attach the DVI cable that came with my 2007WFP I get the following message on screen (no other images):

Your device does not support HDCP. Use the YPbPr connection.

I was under the impression this monitor was HDCP compliant. If it is, and I just happen to have a bugged display, I'd like to return it for one that is working correctly. If it's not, I'd just as soon return it and look at other models.

On another note, it would probably be best if Dell changed their description of this monitor if in fact it is NOT HDCP compliant.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to keep on about this - can you provide a link? I can't find anything in the spec.

Under the picture where it shows all the inputs the DVI is listed as dual link.

thanks for the link, but all it says is:
Connector Type
15-pin D-Sub/DVI-D/S-Video/Composite Connectors

Look at the picture that shows all the connection types. #4 is listed as dual link DVI connector.

I understand that. I even checked my own. The point is, that doesn't mean it is connected to a dual link receiver. I think if it had a dual link reveiver, the specs would explicitly state that. Dual link is not necessary for this monitor anyway - it dislays the native resolution at 119MHz.

Sorry to take this off topic. Your original post raised some good questions about this monitor that have yet to be answered.
