Does the 2007's factory defaults need tweaking?

I seem to remember reading here somewhere that the 2007's (A02) factory default colors need some tweaking in the Advanced Menu to get them right. Or am I just imagining things?

yeah, but I read the A02 revision altered the factory color defaults in the Advanced menu and some people felt it wasn't vibrant anymore compared to A00.

So this is deeper than just the OSD, I'm talking about all those values in the advanced menu.

I owned a 2007wfp, when i got it and run farcry i instantly noticed that the green level is up too high, i dropped the green level from 100% to 90% and it looked much better,i also dropped the brightness to abour 30 to 40 depending on what i was doing, shame dell dont have dedicated buttons for the brightness and not have to go through the osd all the time. but oh well such is life.

Anyways after i got the 2007wfp i read on a review about the green level, they also said it was too high and confirmed my opinion too.

If you want to go hardcore and calibrate it properly using a calibration software would be the best way, but for me it was too much effort and i was happy with it at 90% green level :)

Happy with the colours but unhappy with other points of the 2007wfp, but thats a different story for a differnt place and i wont go into that as its all been said before.

I dont know if it is smart to tweak down red, blue or green. If I run the MonitorTest "Scale Red" test as I scale down the banding appears gradually. The same is also true for tests on blue and green. There are no banding if they are set to 100 %.

Display Resolution Manager can tweak contrast etc directly in dvi:

This is how to get to a 2407 , try it for 2007.

Write all defaults down before tweaking so you can back track if needed.

As a reminder, Dell screens allow you to access the hidden ‘factory’ OSD menu to find out some additional information about your screen. Here is how to do it.

1- Turn off your screen, while your computer is still on.
2- Press simultaneously the 'Menu' and '+' button of the screen.
3- While holding the 2 buttons, press now the 'Power' button. Now let go.
4- Once the screen in ON, unpress the 3 buttons.
5- Just press the '-' button.
6- Press menu again to exit hidden menu.

Whatever settings you're thinking of, I don't know, don't have 2007's.

Phromot, oh right thats what the problem was with banding on my 2007wfp A02, i dared to adjust the colours to a acceptable level as to not suffer from uber green over saturation in all images displayed by my 2007wfp and that created the banding, thanks for setting us strait there man. However i do remember looking at banding b4 i tweaked it, oh well must of been a bad nightmare or something. :P my bad. Maybe some panels calibrate better than others, not sure if all 2007wfp suffer from too much green, easy to see it tho if it does.
