Dual C2722DE can't do 1440 ?

We have 40 sets of C2722DE dual screens setup. USB C connects to the laptop, display port links the two monitors. All monitors are on firmware MT109.

Some desks can run both at 2560 X 1440. A handful can only do 2560 X 1440 and second screen 1080 max

The most we've managed is to swap which screen is set to 1080 v 1440

The same laptop at another set of screens can do dual 1440.

Swapping cables between those work and don't makes no difference.

At this point we've tested every combination and it makes no sense

Laptop's are a mix of HP G6 and, Surface laptop. 36 pairs of screen work on these, 4 sets don't....

The exception to all this is HP G8 at the problem desk after effected, as in both screens at max resolution.

Problem solved. With a laptop plugged in to the master (first) monitor go to the built in menu on the screen using the joystick. Go to the settings (up) and from the full menu scroll to 'Display', 'USB-C Prioritization' and change to "High Resolution" from "High Data Speed".

Then in Windows setting you can set the maximum resolution on both screens.

Compare the build dates of the 4 sets not working to the 36 sets working. The build dates are on the rear label. Just trying to find a pattern.

They all appear to have the same build date of Nov 2021. Which is disappointing as was hoping this might be a lead to the issue. We've tried more combinations out but same basic problem exists, its very odd.

Are the problem setups using a PC with its AC power connected? Or are the users trying to use battery only?

All laptops, HP Elitebook G5, 6, 7, 8 and Microsoft surface laptop connected via USB-C which is providing power to the laptop. So no battery only, all powered. The same devices work at other dual monitor desks same setup, model, firmware....it makes no sense.
