DVI, Nvidia and Dell 1907FP

Hi,

I have a problem with my new LCD monitor.
When my monitor, Dell 1907FP, enter power save mode the power button change color from green to amber and the screen gets black but then the power button still amber but the screen (or backlight?) goes on and goes off and goes on and so on...
This is when I use DVI not VGA. Why? What can I do?

My system is Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200.
(K)ubuntu Edgy Edge 6.10

Could be graphics card drivers. Does it do this in Windows as well?

No I've not seen this in Windows XP. I've tried both Nvidias own Linux driver and the Open Source driver. I've also tried Kubuntu 7.04 live cd and Knoppix live cd and there is the same thing.

Tonight I checked the behavior in Windows XP once again and found exactly the same thing!
How do I contact Dell support when not found the service tag??

Pls, help!
