E151FPb lcd colour problem

When I turn on my 3 .5 year old lcd lately, I have lost red. After it runs a while it comes back. Sometimes it goes off and on (the red) and the brightness seems to jump up and down. I have tried factory reset on the monitor to no avail. Any suggestions, or is this a sign my monitor is wearing out. I have a Dell 4600.

Hi sherryde,

It sounds to me like your E151FPb is having a similar problem to my E151FPb - a faulty signal cable - which is much more likely to happen if the LCD monitor is plugged in and out a lot - you know, when you have to move the monitor or computer around a lot.

Anyway, I'd like to invite you to read the thread in this Dell Community Forum which I have started - E151FPb - Signal Cable problems. Solutions? and see if you feel up to doing a repair yourself on your signal cable. I guess your monitor is out of warranty and so you can't send it back to Dell for a free repair?
