E196FP, Windows 10, Driver

E196 FP 15 pin VGA

Dell XPS 8300 Win 10 Pro x 64

Screen presents " auto adjust in progress". when booting.

I have tested the video card, power cycled the monitor and cannot find a driver other than the PnP MS one.

Ideas appreciated.

Unfortunately, there will not be one for this 10 year old monitor. Even though the Device Manager only states, Generic PnP Monitor, you should still be able to get the prime resolution. Auto adjust is normal when using VGA.

Thank you for that information. This "auto adjust in progress" never happened until Win 10 and now it occurs whenever I login and at other times and is quite nagging.

Does it sound as though the monitor is ready to give up the ghost?

I have tried everything I know on my own.

Hard to say. Perhaps it is the fact that in the older operating system, you might have had a dedicated monitor driver. While in 10, you do not.

I agree; all was made for Win 7 when I bought it so 10 is incompatible with some aspects of the older peripherals.

Thank you for finalizing this conversation and your kind relies.
