E196FPb vertical line which comes & goes

Question

This one-year-old monitor will show a narrow, pale blue vertical line about 2' from the left side of the screen. The line comes on and disappears randomly. When present, it appears on every program, including boot screens. It will stay for a few seconds or minutes, then disappear. Sometimes it will reappear within seconds; other times not for days. The line does not appear on a substitute monitor on the same computer. Any ideas?

aixaix, Make sure the monitor cable to the PC is secure.

Thank you for replying. The monitor is plugged in securely. Also, the line is now green and appears to be permanent. It doubles in width from time to time, then narrows. Any other thoughts?

Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
* Turn off the monitor
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
* Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background. If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. Get it replaced if under warranty
