E2214H, no Windows 10 drivers, DDM not working
I have an E2214H monitor that I bought 5 years ago. When I finally upgraded to Windows 10 and the Dell XPS 8930, the DDM (Dell Display Manager) says it doesn't detect a display. Though of course I do have one. And Windows 10 won't go into the Display graphics options because it thinks Dell is doing that. And when I look for the DDM on the Dell site it specifically excludes the E2214H and also says that there aren't drivers for Windows 10. What to do? Do I have to buy a new monitor? Or are there Windows 10 drivers out there somewhere? I wouldn't care except the new OS is definitely is too bright and actually degrading my vision and I'm try to figure out which element is the issue = monitor, OS, computer or graphics card, or all of them.
And yes I have tried everything suggested = blue light filters, glasses, brightness and contrast on the monitor, on Windows, on the graphics card etc. etc. Way more than you want me to list. So you don't need to go through those.

The E2214H does not have Windows 10 drivers. I suspect DDM says it cannot find a *compatible* monitor, which means something very different from it cannot find a monitor. It is probably the driver you have installed under "Display adapters" in Windows Device Manager, but to be sure post the DDM diagnostic report: while holding down the SHIFT key, right-click on the DDM system tray icon and select "Save diagnostic report" from the popup menu. You can then open the report you saved in Windows Notepad, and copy and paste the contents here.

I recently had the same problem with my new mini pc and the old dell E2214H, the screens keeps blinking, or black screen from time to time, and finally I did two things: reset the pc and change monintor resolution to 1600X900. Maybe the screen looks not so sharp, but tolarable and my pc can be used now. You can try it if you dont' mind.
