E2414Hr, black screen on reboot
I've had my Dell monitor for going on a year. A while back every time I'd have to restart my computer the monitor would remain black following restart. I've searched for reasons with no success so I thought I'd ask here if anyone else has had this problem and how you overcame it. It's very annoying to have to shut down my desktop from the power button and not good for the computer. Once started up again the monitor has no problem.

List how the monitor is connected to the video card using what cable. What specific video card? What ports are on the video card. The E2414H has VGA and DVI ports. Have you tested both?
* Turn the computer and monitor off
* Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
* Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds
* Reconnect all cabling
* Power on and re-test
