flashing lock and flashing main menu mid screen

Question

I have a flashing locked and unlocked symbol mid screen blocking a one inch square mid screen.  Also a main menu (Dell E172FP) flashing in same area.  They seem to take turns!!!  Very annoying. Help!

I am having the same problem..I called Dell..got some guy in India..all he did was screw my computer up so bad I had to take it to a computer shop here to get it back to where I could use it..but the lock is still locking and unlocking..and the main menu is still popping..anyone give you any info as to how to correct the problem? Thanks..Mitch

All, Hold the Menu button down for 15 seconds and tell me if it clears the flashing lock.

I have the same problem and no that didn't fix the problem. How do we reset this monitor???

I had a steady lock and the holding menu button for 15 seconds solved the problem for me.   Thanks
