Green Lines on my Display

Just recently (about 2 weeks ago) i have noticed Green Lines appearing on my Monitor if i am surfing the Internet or geting my mail from outlook express. They stay there for a while then go again.

Today the whole screen as been filled with all the vertical green lines and even if i reboot they dont go away and clutter the whole screen.

I have updated my Direct X to latest version 9.0c and i have checked my DVI wire that plugs from the tower to my Monitor. I have also tried an Anologue Wire to see if it was the DVI wire at fault but the Anologue one does the same.

Has anyone else had this problem and what is the possible fix for this ?

I own a Dimension 8300 with a Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics card. My Monitor is a Dell 1800FP.

I would really appriciate any help. Thank You.

I had the same problem with my 1905 monitor. Dell sent a replacement  video card but in the end the monitor was bad. Next time the lines appear turn the monitor off and then back on to see if the lines go away. If they do, you more than likely have a bad monitor.

When the lines appear i have tried turning my monitor off and on again but the lines remain.

When  the lines are present i have gone into BIOS by pressing F2 on reboot and the display is not correct in there either (all coloured squares are present in places where text should be).

MrDeano,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Here are some things to try and resolve the issue with the monitor. If these do not work then, remove and reinstall the video card drivers back into the system.

This is strickly a monitor problem(M783)I am already on my second one and its happening again.I know its not the computer because I also have your E172FP display and switched them out with no problems.Do you think that everybody complaining about this is a coincidence, impossible.
