Help, blurry screen

I recently purchased a refurbished M991 monitor from tigerdirect.com. My problem with it is that the screen is quite blurry, not overall, but from the center up, extending from dead center on the screen upward in a cone.
Should I try to get it replaced or is there something I can do to fix it?
I've tried degaussing, resetting settings, reducing brightness and contrast, and nothing helps.
I have a Windows XP system, and a Geforce 6800 graphics card. I'm using the default drivers that Windows uses for the M991.

If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

MiccyNarc,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Try setting the clear type in WinXP.

How To Set Clear Text In WinXP

1) Right click a blank portion of the Desktop and select "Properties"
2) Go to the Appearance tab
3) Click Effects
4) Check the "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts"
5) Then select Clear Type from the pull down menu

Thanks for the help, but it's still not cured. It's not just text that's blurred, but graphics too.
