Help with DivX Video File playback on 2005FPW

I just upgraded to the Dell 2005FPW from a relatively new CRT monitor.  I try to play DivX files through Media Player 10 which I have fileshared and get only a very bad picture.  The movie plays but the image looks like the gamma or color is WAY off.  The best way to descibe it is "burnt".  The sound also plays but I can barely hear it at an otherwise normal listening level.  I have AC3 filter installed but perhaps i am not using it correctly or using it at all.  Anyone know if I need this filter?  Perhaps codecs are wrong?  Hi5 to whomever can help me!  Thanks!
