How do i get this really really annoying purple padlock to go away! its right in the middle of my mnitor screen!! i tried holding the menu button for 15 seconds but nothign happens!!
it appeared right after my monitor started in power save mode, i have now played around with my monitor settings in the display option on control panel, i need to find out if power save has finally stopped! but i cant get rid of the purple padlock! Help!?
Any hints on stopping this annoyign power save mode would be appreaciated to, the monitor worked fine for 2 days this power save thing was a bit of a shock.
Well, you may want to contact support in your area to see if the monitor has a warranty. What happens when you try to unlock the monitor?
'OSD Lock' controls user access to adjustments. When 'Yes' (+) is selected, no user adjustments are allowed. All buttons are locked except the menu button.
Note: When the OSD is locked, pressing the menu button will take the user directly to the OSD settings menu, with 'OSD Lock' preselected on entry. Select No(-) to unlock and allow user access to all applicable settings.
Note: You can also lock or unlock the OSD by pushing the Menu button for over 15 seconds.
no still wont unlock. the padlock image wasnt on the screen but i couldnt use any of the menu functions on the front of the monitor. pressed menu for 15 seconds an still nothing. plugged it back into my system an the padlock is still there!

coloneljack,
If holding the menu button in for over 15 seconds does not unlock the monitor you will need to email support@dell.com and have the monitor replaced.
