You don't have to post pictures, you just have to look at those images through your monitor to check for banding. Well do you have revision A02? If you do, and you don't know what banding is, this is what you could do. Look at those reference images on Multimedia/Gaming mode. Then look at it in Desktop mode. You should notice a huge difference. If you don't, then finally switch to analog to see if you see the difference. Look at the image of the sphere for easily distinguished signs of banding.

yeh switching between Desktop and one of the other modes is the easiest way to find out what everyone is on about.

Hi adigitalcure,
here are some free test programs - no installation necessary, just download and run the exe.
gradlin-v0.2-fs.exe - RGB gradient test screens

Checkemon - test screens for solid color, gradients & more.

Monitor Test (Patel) - Test screens for gradients, solid colors, geometry & more.

Some close up photos of what (fairly extreme) banding looks like:

Its called Banding and just open up paint.
Load Paint
Double click on a color
Click Define Custom Color

Could you write back and tell me of the 2007 is as bad as mine 2407

It looks that bad on all my monitors...all  2 of them, ROFL. (Dell 2007WFP and 17" LG L1750SQ-SN).

I think it's a Windows thing but always best to get a CRT user to check it.

hmmm... well I hate to say it but that point thing is a BAD test for gradients, because I just looked with a 244t and it looks just as banded as with your 2407 photo and yet the japanese gradient photo floating around here and the other gradient tests people put up here are perfect on 244t and banded on 2407 to various degrees. so yes, I agree 2407 bands, even with A02, and quite a bit, but no, that is not a good test, I doubt it would look band free even on a CRT.

Thanks, it just made me jump when i saw it. I needed to know if it did that on all monitors, not just mine. Paint is an obsolete program, i think the color selection tool still has code in it from Win 95 :)
