LCD not showing image when connected via DVI

Hello everyone,

a friend of mine just received her brandnew Dell Dimension 4600 with a GeForce FX5200 video card (which has a DVI and a D-Sub connector). When I connected the PC to her Eizo L767 LCD screen (which also has DVI and D-Sub) via a DVI cable I did not get any picture on the screen...

The screen works fine when using a D-Sub cable, but does not show anything when using the DVI cable. The LCD gives a message saying "DVI: no signal" and "D-Sub: not signal" when it is not connected at all, when I use the DVI cable I only get the noDub-signal message and when I use the D-Sub cable I get only the noDVI-signal message...

Do I have to set something in WinXP to make use of the DVI? Anyone has a clue? I never used DVI before, so I am pretty clueless right now

thanks and regards,
Goeran

hi

should be a monitor setting button on the front of the monitor , or somewhere on it, that allows you to switch to the dvi port or analog port. the reason you are getting no signal error, is because you are attached to dvi , but trying to use the analog settings on the monitor.

I have the same problem only Im trying to connect using 5200 with DVI out to W1700 Dell LCD and even when I tell the monitor to go into digital mode I get no picture.  Computer and monitor works fine when in analog mode.

You should check out the 1800FP stuck in DVI Power Save Mode thread.
