List of 2408WFP Problems
Hey,
I have been waiting for the 2408wfp to come out since i returned my 2407wfp-hc due to various issues.
Now after scanning through the forums, seems to me that the 2408wfp also have its own share of problems.
I am still thinking of buying the 2408wfp but with so many topics here on problems, some solved and some i don't really think was solved, it gets confusing as to which few problems cannot really be solved or the 2408wfp was meant to be.
Let me start with a few,
Color banding - can it be fixed with replacement??
Too sharp - color distortion around texts??
Color distortion on some parts - really??
Humming noise - ??
imbalance color - ???
tint problem - red tint ???
The tint problem seem to appear in lots of thread.
It would be a great help if someone would verify these problems.
Im really still pondering on it, to get or not to get...

Check out this thread on hard forum:

The last few pages pretty much sum up all the of the problems. IMO, I would wait untill there is a new revision or firmware update before getting it.

And wil the input lag also be fixed in a new revision?
What if you buy the monitor now, and there will be a revision in the futere? Is it possible to update the monitor?

I really doubt input lag would be considered an "issue" by Dell, or any other manufacturer before, it's a feature inherant to most TFT's sadly, and i doubt there would be any way of improving this on the 2408WFP without a major change of panel, internal electronics etc. As usual, there will probably be no way for the user to "flash" their firmware, normally if Dell release an update with fixes you would have to take the screen to a service centre, or send it back to Dell to be changed / updated. Sure more info would be posted as and when a new revision does come out. Seeing as the 2408WFP is brand new, and Dell haven't really said they would release a "fix", i wouldn't expect it any time soon to be honest.

If you have the red tint on the 2408WFP, I need the PPID number.

Does it mean that not all of the dell 2408 screens have this problem?

I have a question about the input lag. Is the input lag same on all connectors or is it lower on hdmi than composite or something?
I want to connect the monitor to my xbox360, but the input lag numbers shown on internet are too much for me. But they only test it on dvi.

I know a TN panel is maybe better. But I have a lot of demands for my new screen.
24 inch widescreen
connections to connect 2 pc's and my xbox360 at the same time
xbox360 has no HDMI port, connection has to be with component
all connections have to accept 1080p
And the dell has it all. Only the input lag is a big issue.
